Breathwork Immersion: Love Your Inner Critic
Join us on a journey of working with the inner critic and shame at a weekend breathwork immersion that combines the potent practices of breathwork, embodiment, circling, inner parts work, sound baths, and meditation. By bringing these tools, we aim to guide you into a deeper understanding, compassion, and love for the voices within us that sometimes appear harsh, judgmental, and limit our full potential.
What to Expect
During the third edition of Breathwork Immersion, we will focus on common human experiences of shame, deficiency of self-worth, and inner criticism. By inquiring into the environment of childhood and attentively experiencing the manifestation of the psyche in the present moment, we aim to allow the wounding to be felt, expressed, and held in the warm embrace of loving compassion. The main tool we will work with is breathwork, which supports our capacity to feel while allowing stuck energies and emotions to move through the body, helping us find more freedom, authenticity, and true expression.
An important part of this journey will involve relationships with other participants, both in paired inquiry exercises and in a larger group setting, utilizing group intelligence and the power of being witnessed and mirrored.
From Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, immerse yourself in a diverse array of workshops, including various modalities: Biodynamic Breathwork, Tantric Breathwork, Circling (Interpersonal Meditation), Inner Parts Work, relational embodiment exercises, ecstatic dance, sound baths, and meditation. For many participants, the combined technology of these practices enhances connection to their bodies, invites emotional and energetic release, expands states of consciousness, and provides insights into personality structure and behavioral patterns.
Who Is it For
This extended weekend is designed for individuals yearning to move towards their full potential of self-expression, freedom of being in the world, and mature relationships with themselves and others. What often stands in the way of these qualities are limiting belief systems, represented by the voice of the inner critic, or superego. If you wish to relate to that voice in a more compassionate and wholesome way, while being able to gently feel and embrace the wounding that is often underneath, this workshop is for you.
We aim to combine the depth and subtlety of somatic therapeutic work with the cognitive understanding of the functions of shame, fear, and self-criticism. This means it will be a space for those who wish to work utilizing the intelligence of the body and nervous system, while honoring the importance of our minds and the interplay between these structures.
Inclusivity and Connection
Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or a newcomer, “Breathwork Immersion: Love Your Inner Critic” welcomes participants of all levels of experience. Throughout the weekend, you’ll be part of smaller pods, fostering a sense of safety and continuity. The connections formed during the event will extend beyond, as you’re invited to continue your journey with your small group after the retreat.
Group work is an intentional and important part of this Immersion. Groups are potent vehicles for transformation as, over the course of a few days, we relax into more safety and trust, allowing for more vulnerability and being seen for who we really are. We believe that such experiences have healing potential that goes beyond doing any type of exercises or therapy, and the structure of the immersion is created in a way to support these processes.
What Inspires Us
Rooted in the belief that the combination of breathwork, movement, and self-awareness can be a powerful catalyst for personal transformation, we have crafted a unique experience that integrates embodiment, relational dynamics, and introspection. We recognize that the journey of self-discovery and trauma work often focuses on pain, wounds, and dysfunctions, making it difficult for some to recognize pleasure, contentment, and joy. We invite you on a journey where our intention is to find a healthy balance between trauma-oriented exploration and the recognition of our inherent wholeness, celebrating it, and feeling joy and pleasure.
We believe that all our mental structures serve a role and have a purpose, and understanding them is a path towards relaxing into radical self-compassion and opening to deeper love.
